Constitution Day
Registrar
‘We The People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union…’
These are the first words of the Constitution of the United States of America. On September 17, 1787 the Founding Fathers of this country signed and sent this document out to the Thirteen Colonies for ratification. Delaware was the first to ratify the Constitution on December 7, 1787; New Hampshire was the ninth state to ratify the Constitution (June 21, 1788) thus fulfilling the required ¾ majority for the Constitution to go into effect.

In 2004 Congress drafted a bill, signed by President George W. Bush on December 8th, 2004 (public law 108-447), that designates every September 17th as Constitution Day.
